lifelines

For this project, I was selected along with landscape historian Jeroen Wiersma for Nije Eagen; a collaboration between Fryslân DOK and PLONS! international short documentary festival, in which three filmmakers are guided in creating a nine-minute short documentary.

In the film, I follow Jeroen during his research on the cultural-historical and ecological value of old farmer’s ditchland. one of the last remaining landscapes of this kind in Friesland.
In this layered area, where past and present come together, a conversation emerges about our relationship with the landscape and the question of how many future generations will still be able to take in this wealth.

The documentary premiered during PLONS! international short documentary festival and was broadcast by Fryslân DOK on Omrop Fryslân and NPO 2.
