In Denmark, I explored how darkness and light shape our perception, how day and night mirror the rhythms of the seasons, and how rituals emerge from a profound trust in nature.
The waving of the trees reminded me of the creatures from the harvest festivals that I came across during my field research from the ‘Spieker‘ project.
The visitor became part of the experience and the ritual dimension because of the reflection of their shadow and by the repetitive nature of the sound played.
The work developed here blends film, photography and installation into a quiet investigation of these universal patterns.
It took place in a basement which was build with wood from old shipwrecks, during Media Art Days Ringkøbing-Skjern.
